At Dog-ease we offer puppy training on a 1-2-1 basis or in a group training class setting. For group training, our puppy training courses start with a 1-2-1 introductory session, either at your home or at the Dog-ease Training School, whichever you prefer.
What to expect?
Just like us humans, all dogs will have their individual character traits and needs. This can stem from the breed traits of your dog as well as mannerisms and personality traits passed down through their ancestors. During your 1-2-1 session, Adem will be able to give you an insight into the mind of your individual dog, what to be aware of as they grow, how to safely and positively introduce them to knew people, dogs, places and experiences, and how best to help them to understand how to be a good, well-mannered and happy member of your family.
Our training sessions are carefully structured to ensure that all dogs and their owners are able to achieve and make good progress towards the four training awards that we offer: Puppy, Bronze, Silver and Gold. Training activities are taught in a step by step fashion, with your instructor demonstrating for you and your dog first and helping you to overcome any issues you might have. Upon starting in a training class, you will be given the criteria you will be working towards during your course. This helps you to know what you are working towards as well as helping you to structure your own training, outside of classes, when teaching your dog how to respond to your commands.
With our busy lives and our love of sharing experiences and going to new places with our canine best friends (who doesn’t love a coffee shop!), it is important to teach our dogs how to understand our modern world and the situations that they might find themselves in. Our training syllabus doesn’t just help you to teach your dog to respond to commands, it also helps you to understand how to apply your training to your everyday life so that you and your dog can get the most out of life together, your dog is confident in new situations, and your dog shows off the good manners they have learnt around other dogs, people and animals.
Socialisation as a puppy is a key part of your dog learning how to interact positively with other dogs. At Dog-ease we teach you how to set up social situations that are safe and positive for your dog. With an understanding of what your dog needs, you will be well equipped to take the lead in showing them how to behave around other dogs whilst also keeping them safe from negative experiences.
At Dog-ease we teach through the use of positive reinforcement by praising your dog through the use of your voice, tasty food treats, and play. These encourage your dog to want to learn! We teach you how to time your praise carefully so that your dog can understand what your command means, respond appropriately, and learn quickly whilst having fun!
At Dog-ease we can help you with issues that you might experience as your puppy grows. This can be anything from toileting problems, mouthing and jumping up, to fears or anxieties that your puppy is starting to show signs of.
We have both a large, fully secured, outdoor training paddock and a large, fully lit, indoor training hall. This means that you can undertake your training comfortably in all weathers and at all times of the year.
We keep our puppy training classes small to ensure that all owners and dogs are able to receive 1-2-1 training time and attention. This helps us to ensure that our approach remains personal and our classes are tailored to the needs of each of our class members, both canine and human!
