Before buying a puppy it is important to consider the breed type. Is it a working, pastoral, terrier, toy, utility or companion dog? Each breed of dog has been selectively bred for a purpose and each has their own characteristics. The breed characteristics will have a strong influence on the dog’s mannerisms, ability to learn, exercise requirements and training needs.
It is much better to obtain a dog that is right for you and your home and family. An elderly person who is looking for companionship will not enjoy trying to keep up with a high-energy breed that needs a ten mile run every morning. I can advise you on the different breed that might suit your situation. Just drop me a line on the ‘Contact’ page.
