PETS AS THERAPY – THE LOW DOWN

I have been a Pets as Therapy volunteer for 12 and a half years now, and an Assessor for over a year. I have seen first hand the difference that PAT dogs can make to the lives of others, it is just incredible and I feel so proud to be part of this wonderful organisation.

Recently at Crufts I got to chat all things PAT with the Show Interview and Highlights team. I shared what being a volunteer and assessor entails, the types of places you can volunteer with your dog, and how you and your dog can get involved and become a PAT member too!

I would highly recommend this training company. The facilities are FANTASTIC with an indoor dome for wet windy days, that is fully equipped. The large secure field has well thought out props for training. Its clean, easy to park. The group was small so it was very personable, it was fun but the training was delivered in a well delivered curriculum. I had previously attended another company's puppy training prior to this course, it was good but the venue and facilities were not anywhere near what Dog-Ease offer, plus the group was larger and I feel the dogs and owners benefit from a small class. I have had dogs for years and wished I had done this before...... Thank you Dog-Ease, totally enjoyed it and will really miss my weekly sessions. I cannot wait to start agility groups... will be back soon.

Adem and his team have a wealth of knowledge/expertise and have helped us in training and understanding our dogs. Not only do they offer a fantastic training facility but they are always willing to help and support you outside the classes. As important, is their clear love of dogs and the priority they give to their welfare. It is clearly more than just a business. Would highly recommend. x

I have known Adem for many years. He and Sally have helped us with a broad range of issues I've had with my adult and puppy pointers from extreme separation anxiety to strong hunting drives. Adem has an innate understanding of dogs. He immediately grasps the problem and is able to explain its cause. He also has an outstanding ability to fix these issues and, most importantly, teach me, as a dog-owner, simple, consistent and practical techniques to overcome them without ever resorting to the use of force or fear. He has enabled my dogs and all my family to build trusting and loving relationships and we will always be grateful for his help.

We have been having regular one-to-one sessions with Adem for over a year now. Adem absolutely loves dogs and is an expert in his field. He is very personable and it is a pleasure to spend time with him. He has helped train us to understand our dog, helping her to be less fearful and anxious using positive reinforcement. We know how to read our dog so much better now and are able to help her in a wide variety of situations and environments using the knowledge and tools he's given us. The sessions we have are always extremely thorough and enjoyable for us and our dog, we find them invaluable. Adem and Sally are always on hand to answer any questions we have after our sessions and we feel fully supported by them both. Would recommend them to anyone with a dog experiencing behavioural issues.

Adem’s knowledge and understanding of dogs is exceptional and is matched by his ability to communicate with the human owner! Classes are small, informative and made fun for both dog and owner. They cover every aspect of owning a dog, from puppy classes up to a gold level obedience standard and beyond. Adem has given us the confidence to deal with all sorts of encounters with other dogs, animals and humans, together with personalised training for our two dogs, including introducing a new puppy to the pack, separation anxieties and meeting and greeting new dogs. Adem, Sarah and Sally have given us the tools needed to really enjoy our dogs, we can not recommend them highly enough.

I first met Adem 10 years ago when I was experiencing problems with my 2 labradors after a relationship break up. Adem helped me to understand my dogs and to help them through the changes that were taking place. 8 years later I called on Adem again for help with my new puppy. Adem has helped me recognise my pups challenging behaviour and shown me ways to deal with problems using positive kind reward based methods. His classes which we attend weekly are always fun and are often changed to incorporate the needs of a specific problem that’s cropped up whether this is dealing with dogs facing changes at home or a dog that’s a bit scared of something. Classes are always informative and I always come away feeling like I’ve learned something. Adem’s understanding of dogs and their behaviour is incredible. I can’t recommend him highly enough.

Adem started working with myself and Olive (Bracco Italiano) about a year ago on a one to one basis. Since going to see him Olive has progressed loads. Adem has given me plenty of exercises and drills that I can do on my own between visit which have really helped. He has a great understanding of dogs and gun dogs and his passion for what he is doing really comes across in his sessions. He has been very good at pointing out my bad habbits which were holding Olive back or eroding her training. Looking forward to our next session!

Adem is a caring and very knowledgeable dog trainer, we have two working cocker spaniels, they both have excellent recall using Adem's training techniques, they are well behaved and well mannered dogs. At the end of puppy/dog training classes he gives you 'homework' and practice is essential!! Just a few minutes a day makes a big difference. Getting a WCS to do a sit 2 minute sit and stay for Silver award is a MAJOR achievement! Thanks so much Adem for your patience.

I have known Adem for 5 years when I first contacted him regarding our now 6 year working cocker spaniel, she would recall but stay arms length away as she did not want her lead back on! Adem taught us to work together through agility & obedience training. I now also have a 19 month old working cocker spaniel who has attended his puppy classes, attaining her silver dog obedience award. At his classes owners & dogs are both trained exceptionally well! He helps you train your dog with clear instructions, kindness & tasty treats. I take both dogs to his weekly agility class, great fun & a very friendly group of people. I have two well mannered dogs thanks to Adem. Over the years listening to & watching Adem I have learnt a lot about dog behaviour & how to understand them. So go to Adem if you have a problem with your dog. Go to Adem for gun dog training and obedience! Go to Adem for fun!

AMAZING DOG TRAINING. HELPED ME SORT OUT A VERY PROBLEMATIC AND AGGRESSIVE COCKER, WHO IS NOW A VERY WELL TRAINED MADAM. I HONESTLY THINK I WOULD HAVE LOST HER WITHOUT ADEM. After losing our previous Dobey suddenly I never thought I had a place in my heart for another. Then along came Daisy, a scrawny rescue with issues! The very first time Adem came to our house to assess her (and us) I knew he would help us to achieve our goals. Daisy had obviously never been properly socialised with other dogs and was cocky and a bully and totally without manners. We knew we had our work cut out with her and She was going to be a challenge. Adem has an amazing ability to read dogs and his calm and patient manner is quite unique. It has taken a lot of hard work, time and most of all, patience but it has been totally worth all the effort. We knew it wouldn't be a "quick-fix" and we still have a way to go but the progress she has made is quite phenomenal and we can't thank Adem enough, he is truly gifted. If I could give him 10 stars, I would. Thank you Adem.

We now have a different dog but I still attend classes once a week as not only are they very useful with training and socialising the dog, they are also a lot of fun. I have 2 Italian Spinoni, a pretty full on breed, especially when they're young. I was recommended to see Adem with my first Spinone when he'd missed a lot of training following illness which limited his exercise. Adem is by far the best Trainer/behaviourist I have ever experienced. He knows how each breed behaves and advises accordingly. He talks in straight forward, logical terms and teaches you to handle your dog in the best way for you both. When I got my second Spinone, we attended puppy classes and Adem (& Sarah) helped me through the teenage tantrums and maintained faith in me even when I didn't! We've moved away from the area now and the thing I miss most of all is Adem's classes. I've recommended Dog-ease at every opportunity and will continue to do so. Thank you Adem; I'm a better dog owner thanks to you!
