MAKING THE MOST OF YOUR PUPPY’S TOY BOX

To help you to make the most of your puppy’s toy box (and probably the tens of pounds worth of toys in it!) I have put together a short video that discusses the three types of toys that can be beneficial to your puppy and, of course, how you can use each.

Our dogs are much like children in the sense that they may lose interest toys they see and have available to them to play with every day. I have visited many owner’s homes where their puppy’s toys and chews are scattered around the home or toys are not being used to their full potential. As a result, I often see toys being largely ignored and puppies diverting their attention to items in the home that the owner would rather they didn’t get their razor sharp teeth into and play with!

One way to combat this disinterest in existing toys and to keep your puppy’s toys ‘fresh’ and valued is to rotate a selection throughout the week. This will help to keep your puppy’s interest and help to mentally stimulate and physically tire your puppy through the act of playing.

I hope you find this video helpful. Let me know what your puppy or dog’s favourite toy is in the comments below! My old Yogi loves a teddy, whilst the girls all love a ball – Penny a ball on a rope, Wren a tennis ball, and Bertha a ‘Chuck it’ ball. We have so much fun!

Much love
