HOW TO TEACH THE STAY COMMAND – PART ONE

Stay is a very useful command for your dog to understand. It is a command that can be used daily, in every day life and in many situations. From asking your dog to stay in their bed as you answer the front door, to your dog staying in a sit or down position when at the vets and perhaps on the weighing scales, allowing an accurate reading to be taken. There are many ways that this command can come into use!

To help you to teach the stay command I have not one, but FOUR short video tutorials lined up for you. Here is the first, an introduction for beginners and the very first step to teaching Stay. Each video tutorial will build on the last, allowing you to see the small progress steps you need to practice and achieve before progressing onto the next step.

As with all training, teaching the Stay command can take time. Be patient, work at your dog’s pace, and don’t be afraid to go back a step if necessary. Keep training sessions short and sweet and always end on a positive.

Let me know if you give it a go and don’t forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel so you can easily come back to this tutorial.

Happy training!
